The rescue’s notes on GRINS
Grins is a five-year-old wire-haired dachshund weighing 24 pounds who would benefit from daily walks and a higher-quality diet to reach a healthier weight of around 20 pounds. This calm and easygoing boy lost his home when his senior owner entered a nursing home and has had limited exercise in recent years, but he is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on leash. Grins does well with cats and may do best as the only dog in his household, as he can be bossy with other dogs—a dynamic that works best with an experienced, confident owner. He is adjusting happily to his new life and would thrive with a dachshund-loving family ready to give him daily walks, good nutrition, and a loving home.
