Special needs: [BLUE]Background: Stray intake on 6/4/26. Came in with a male dog and has been co-kenneled with him for several days. Intake staff noted dog started alligator rolling on leash when tried to scan for microchip. Dog was easy to handle for initial medical exam and vaccines, but noted to panic with leash pressure. Given blue dot on intake d/t alligator rolling/panicking with leash pressure. First time meeting both handlers during handling evaluation on 6/9/26.O: Dog was sitting on kuranda bed in half kennel with lowered/tucked body language, looked up at handler with soft, worried eyes. Avoidant of leash and retreated to the kuranda bed. Handler stepped in and tossed loop over dogbx00#25;s head. Dog lowered body then stepped slowly out to stand next to handler. Dog walked on very loose leash, touching handlerbx00#25;s legs all the way to the yard. Tail down or tucked. In the yard, dog approached both handlers for pets around the head. Stepped forward to push head into handlerbx00#25;s hands. Took offered treats with somewhat hard mouth. Soft eyes and relaxed musculature, lowered/partially tucked tail with all over handling of head, neck, chest, back, legs, and teeth check. Approximately 6 years old by teeth. No interest in toys. Walked back to kennel with lowered/tucked body language and tucked tail, loose leash, with body touching handlerbx00#25;s leg. No issues rekenneling. A: Timid but affiliative. Difficult to assess energy level as dog appears overwhelmed. Treat motivated. Shows some enjoyment with pets, but very timid currently. P: Make available for adoption. Recommend patient rewards-based approach to basic training (leash walking, basic commands) with structured and slow introduction to new environments/people. May do best in an adult only home or with older dog-savvy older kids as dog is currently very timid. Blue for in-shelter handling d/t being very timid and very sensitive to leash pressure.[2026-06-10 16:21:00.000]

Psst… hi! Lynn here.

I've got a feeling you and I could be pretty great together.

I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.

I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that worry you — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.

I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — Lynn 🐾
