Best in an adults-only home

Special needs: [YELLOW]Background: Stray intake on 6/5/26. Finder noted that dog was scared to get in the car, and was calm and relaxed in the car. Dog was easy to handle on intake. Appeared scared and timid. The dog bows to the floor when scared. Dog is a yellow dot dog only due to the fear and dog needing to be guided to walk well on leash. First time meeting both handlers during handling evaluation on 6/8/26.O: Dog was at front of kennel with lowered/tucked body language, looked up at handler with soft, worried eyes. Avoidant of leash and retreated to the back of the kennel. Handler lowered guillotine and went around to the back of the kennel. At the back of the kennel, dog walked out into the leash loop. Walked with handler down the hallway. Tail down or tucked. Paused to look in doorways. Lowered body, tail tucked. In the yard, dog stood still and did not approach either handler. Stretched out to sniff toys and treats. Took dropped treats and then took treats very gently from handlerbx00#25;s outstretched hand. Sat down when handler approached. Soft eyes as handler pet him around his head and chest. Walked back to kennel with lowered/tucked body language and tucked tail. No issues rekenneling. Yellow volunteer handled dog for playgroup and had no issues handling for leashing, walking on leash, and rekenneling. A: Timid. Difficult to assess energy level as dog appears overwhelmed. Treat motivated. Shows some enjoyment with pets, but very timid currently. P: Make available for adoption. Recommend patient rewards-based approach to basic training (leash walking, basic commands) with structured and slow introduction to new environments/people. May do best in an adult only home or with older dog-savvy older kids as dog is currently very timid. Yellow for in-shelter handling d/t being timid and not freely approaching handlers.[2026-06-09 21:38:00.000]

Hey, friend! Sebastopol here.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and a few zoomies) saved up for the right person.

I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.

I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that worry you — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.

I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — Sebastopol 🐾
