BEXAR

Vizsla · Adult · Male · Large

San Antonio, TX

Hi there! BEXAR here.

I've got a feeling you and I could be pretty great together.

I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.

I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — BEXAR 🐾

The rescue’s notes on BEXAR

Bexar was born on March 14, 2024, and is a lively retriever and hound mix with a big personality to match his growing size. He thrives outdoors, where his playful and energetic nature really shines, but once he’s inside, he transforms into a calm, affectionate cuddle bug who’s happiest lounging on the couch or relaxing in the backseat during a ride.He can do well with kids, though he benefits from a bit of guidance to keep his enthusiastic play style from becoming too rough. Bexar is wonderfully social and gets along not only with small dogs and cats, but even a tortoise—which says a lot about his easygoing temperament. When it comes to playtime, he has a special love for chewing, especially on squeaky or stuffed toys, and he proudly collects plastic water bottles like little trophies.Bexar already knows how to sit on command and is currently working on improving his leash manners by staying close at his handler’s side, along with building a reliable recall. He’s also taken on the role of a loyal “assistant” in the kitchen and follows the vacuum around like a curious roomba sidekick, always wanting to be part of the action. To top it off, he’s learned to ring a bell on the doorknob to let his humans know when he needs to go outside, making him both clever and communicative.
