Psst… hi! River here.
I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and a few zoomies) saved up for the right person.
I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.
I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — River 🐾
The rescue’s notes on River
This handsome boy is RIVER, he is around a year old and we have no idea what his mix is. Flat-coat retriever mix, some sort of husky/golden? Who knows?! One thing we know is that he is one adorable pup! He previously lived on a balcony and got out once a day to run in an open field. Needless to say he is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash. At first he was nervous meeting new people, it's just not something he was used to. However, he has made big strides with this already and is coming around to new friends faster and faster. This boy loves to play in the water and roll over for belly rubs. River is very happy with his new exercise routine and playing with all of the volunteers. He will definitely need some time and direction in a new home to learn his manners and settle into a normal routine. Any time spent in the beginning setting the foundation will pay itself off tenfold later on, as you get to enjoy your life with a new best friend! River is very sweet, and very food motivated; he just needs someone that will give him direction and consistency. Right now we believe he would do best in a home with no small children, based on his lack of socialization and excitement level. We think he would do well with older children, 16 years and up! River can be jumpy and has no manners – we are working on this, but when going to a new home every dog looks to see what they can get away with. River is such a handsome and sweet natured boy. He has the potential to be the kind of dog that will just stick with you forever, as one of the best companions you've ever had. He just needs someone willing to help mold him into the dog he was always meant to be! It's not his fault that he didn't get the best start to life.
