Sterling is an 8 month old male Lab mix with a rich chocolate coat, stunning golden eyes, and a gentle soul that's just waiting to be discovered. This handsome young boy may be a little shy when meeting new people, but behind his cautious approach is one of the sweetest hearts you'll ever meet. When visitors arrive at his pen, Sterling often lets his more outgoing sibling take the lead. He prefers to hang back, watch, and make sure everything feels safe. But with a little time, patience, and a few tasty treats, his curiosity gets the better of him, and he begins to realize that new friends can be wonderful. Once he warms up, you'll see the loving, affectionate puppy he has always been. Sterling has a quiet, gentle nature that makes him especially endearing. He's the kind of dog who doesn't demand attention but deeply appreciates it, forming meaningful bonds with the people who earn his trust. Watching his confidence grow is incredibly rewarding, and every tail wag feels like a special gift. He currently lives peacefully with his siblings and enjoys their companionship, finding comfort in having canine friends nearby. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.
