The rescue’s notes on MANNY

WATCH MY VIDEO...Manny is a handsome 3-year-old black American Bulldog mix whose world recently changed when his owner no longer had the time to care for him. While he's still adjusting to shelter life, everyone who meets Manny can see what a special dog he truly is. Manny is a bit shy when meeting new people and can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, but underneath that cautious exterior is a kind, loving dog who simply wants to feel safe again. Staff and volunteers describe him as calm, gentle, and easy to handle. Once he trusts you, he enjoys staying close by your side and is happiest spending time with his people. His previous owner reports that Manny is housebroken and gets along well with adults, older children, dogs, and even cats. He is also a smart boy who already knows commands such as `sit,` `stay,` `down,` and `paw.` Manny enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He loves treats, playing catch with tennis balls, and spending quality time with the people he loves. While he is an active dog who enjoys playtime, he also has a calm and affectionate side that makes him a wonderful companion. He isn't very vocal, but he will let you know when someone is at the door with a bark or two. One thing our staff and volunteers especially appreciate about Manny is how nicely he walks on leash. He strolls calmly without pulling and is a pleasure to take out for walks. Although shelter life has made him a little reserved, we believe Manny's true personality will continue to blossom once he settles into a loving home and regains the sense of security he's missing.
