Special needs: [YELLOW]Background: brought in stray, given yellow dot on intake.B Handling 5/27/26: Volunteer had dog out and was coning back to ward. Pulling moderately. Volunteer reported dog was easy to leash up initially from kennel. Dog allowed switching of leashes. In small yard, dog allowed all over touch/petting, including teeth check. Leaned into both handlers and sought attention. Interest in stuffy/squeaky toy, sniffed ball. Marked a couple of times outdoors. Did not take treats outside . Knows sit. No issues rekenneling. Yellow level due to pulling.B A: Affiliative, young dog, minimal training. Enjoys petting and will need more training for LLW.B P: Would do best in a home familiar with large breed dogs and committed to continuing ongoing rewards based training. Unknown how dog may do w/ children. May do okay with dog savvy children over 12 y/o.B [2026-05-28 21:24:00.000]

Buster – Goofy, Affectionate, and Full of Puppy Fun Buster is a 10-month-old Pit Bull Terrier weighing 54 pounds with lots of playful energy and an even bigger heart. This wiggly, happy boy is equal parts entertainer and cuddle bug and brings enthusiasm and joy wherever he goes. Playful and self-entertaining: Buster loves toys and can happily keep himself occupied, tossing them around, shaking them, and showing off his impressive ability to catch them mid-air. Affectionate cuddle bug: He loves being close to his people, leaning hard into pets and neck scratches. He may even try to sneak in a few affectionate face licks. Smart and eager: Buster already knows "sit," responds well to cues, and takes treats gently. Young and enthusiastic: He may pull a bit on leash excitedly, but he remains manageable and is continuing to polish his leash manners and dog social skills. Buster would do well with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home.
