Columbus — There has been much debate, in many homes, over the rightful occupancy of the couch. We write today to settle it: the couch belongs to everyone, and most especially to whoever is softest and warmest at any given moment.
The “you have your own bed” argument, while technically sound, ignores the foundational truth that the couch is better, and that being near the humans is the entire point.
We propose a simple accord: the couch is shared, the warm spot is rotated, and nobody mentions the fur.
